Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up ~Perfume Review + Here Comes The Sun Draw

Romano Ricci of Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up Jamie Cullen©

I always expect the unexpected from perfumer Romano Ricci of Juliette Has a Gun, who began his niche fragrance line in 2006. Last year he composed a fantastic fragrance that simply flew under my radar: Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up. His idea was to create a sandalwood perfume for men and women that would inspire happy and positive feelings. Juliette has A Gun Sunny Side Up encapsulates both sunshine and the color yellow, without any yellow flowers or ingredients. Romano Ricci says,“ I started with Sandalwood essence. A woody note with creamy and rich. I simply accentuated it with some musks, and a jasmine sambac and coconut milk facet.”

Juliette has A Gun Sunny Side Up Jamie Cullen

To create the graphics for Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up, Romano chose Jamie Cullen, the well-known illustrator with his own colourful pop world. If you are looking for a creamy sandalwood fragrance that stands up to the heat of the summer and immediately puts you in a good mood try Sunny Side Up.

  • I love your reviews, dear Sebastian. I really enjoyed. You described this perfume with big pleasure that I wanted to try this perfume again, even I’ve tried and was not impressed by Sunny Side UP creamy-sandalwood smell.
    Nice review!
I like Miss Charming from JHG.

I LOVE Juliette Has A Gun! The quality of the fragrance and even the bottles are so luxurious. I was lucky enough to find a discounted bottle of Calamity J at Christmastime for cheap! I would love to add this to my collection. I love sandalwood scents. Sensuous Nude by Estee Lauder is one of my favorite sandalwood scents. So creamy and clean and uplifting. Thanks for offering the chance to your viewers, Sebastian!

  • Sebastian loves a creamy Sandalwood fragrance and so do I. My favorite is Lady Vengeance. In the US. Thanks for the opportunity to sniff.

Timing is everything. I was just thinking that with the warmer summer weather I had to step away from my bottles (yes, bottles) of Juliet Has a Gun Midnight Oud; my absolute favorite. No wonder, people stop me in the street with compliments. Sunny Side Up sounds like the perfect transition into a lighter, brighter scent. Love the bottle design, almost has a Peter Max quality. Nice to hear Sebastian talk about the creaminess of the scent as that is one of the qualities I love in Midnight Oud; lush and creamy. Thank you for the draw; I am based in the US.

  • Sebastian does it again! He’s so likable and really knows how to make you fall in love with a fragrance even if you’ve never experienced it. I’m interested in this one because of its mood-booster qualities and the sandalwood. Moscow Mule seems to be a favorite of most! Arkansas, USA

  • Michelle C says:

I love sandalwood! It is probably my favorite note in fragrances. Sebastian had me at cozy and warm sandalwood fragrance. This sounds right up my alley. I tried some of the perfumes in the line. I would say Not a Perfume would be at the top. Im sure Sunny Side Up will be taking its place. Thank you for the giveaway!

  • Loved your description of the creaminess – makes me what to sample this one! Thank you for the giveaway!

  • Jake smith says:

This one sounds excellent sandalwood is one of my favorite notes especially when it’s really creamy. I am definitely checking this one out. I haven’t tried anything else from this house yet but I am getting a sample of Moscow mule from a friend who just got a bottle should be in soon. Sebastian always describes fragrances in way that makes them sounds so appealing even when I dont like the notes really just a great reviewer! always great article keep up the good work! I am in the USA in AZ.

I especially Loved Sebastian’s review of Sunny Side up because Sandalwood is one of my favorite notes…. I was able to get my nose on this scent and it does remind me of Santal 33 from Lelabo but a more creamy and uplifting fragrance…. I definitely would LOVE a full bottle of this offering. Thanks for the opportunity to win. PLEASE PLEASE. Sebastian is a phenomenal does fantastic work with his reviews. Hoping to Make this Juliette offering another piece in my collection….Midnight Oud is amazing a signature scent for me

Sebastian is always so informative. The way he presents fragrances is refreshing to watch. He is always honest about what he thinks and you can just see the passion he has for fragrances. I first started getting into fragrances from landing on one of his videos and since then I have been hooked. I now own about 115 or so Fragrances and this Juliette has a gun Sunny Side Up has grabbed my attention. I love sandlewood so this fragrance would be something I would be interested in.

  • Jim Gonzalez says:

I wouldn’t think that sandalwood would be great in summer but this sound wonderful. I have Moscow Mule and also Mmm which my wife likes
    Thanks to everyone involved

  • john lowery says:

    Sebastian’s reviews are insightful. I love a creamy sandalwood,Tom Ford’s
    Santal Blush being a favorite.

  • Sebastian, well done. I have Gentlewoman and have loved samples of others from this house. This one sounds awesome. I had been concerned there would be some kind of “beachy” scent, but after listening to you, it seems I had no reason to think that.

  • hubbardshe says:

Sebastian has always given the best recommendations and descriptions of fragrance. By his discription alone I have gone to buy or try something and I have never been disappointed. I think we have the same taste. So I know if he loves it….i usually will to. Im excited to see if I can find this.

  • Carlos R Rodriguez says:

I enjoyed Senastian’s video because I’ve been very intrigued about this brand and I’m a lover of sandalwood who for a very long time have been missing that creamy sandalwood scent that the old Mysore sandalwood is known for and I miss finding in perfumes nowadays. Most sandalwoods I encounter lately come across dru, powdery, or almost ficticioisly sweet. I’m very excited with the description Sebastian gave and I’m very hopeful that I can finally find the sandalwood I’m looking for in this perfume house.

  • I have Lady Vengeance. I do love this brand. I have not tried this Scent but I really liked how Sebastian emphasized being happy when you where it. It sounds perfect! Thanks for the review and the draw.

  • fazalcheema says:

This is interesting if it is creamy sandalwood. I was fearing it will have that suntan vibe more than anything else. The bottle is true to the name. My favorite JHAG is Midnight Oud which I got not long after it came out. thanks for the draw. I am in US

  • I love how detailed and eloquent Sebastian’s fragrance reviews are. I was able to score a 1 ml vial of Sunny Side Up and his break down of the notes was so accurate. It is a lovely, cozy, creamy sandalwood that is very close wearing. Very much a “wearing it for myself” perfume, as he described. Thank for the chance to win a full bottle!

  • Southernboy says:

Always enjoyed Sebastian reviews , from the review this fragrance sounds like it but be great year round fragrance with that creamy sandalwood .Live in the USA

  • Never had experience with this line though I’d like to. Sebastian never disappoints with his reviews. Very descriptive and entertaining.

  • Carol Webb says:

Sebastian’s reviews always make me want to purchase! He is so detailed and expresses about the scents so well. I have tried several JHAG scents, my favorite is Mmmm. I also bought the large bottle of Not a Perfume – I wear it quite often when wearing perfume would cause issues (scent-free environment). I also layer it with others.
Thanks for the fantastic draw (and review!). I’m in the US.

  • heartandsoul says:

Sebastian and I are on the same page where sandalwood is concerned. It is so comforting and cozy. Give me a good book, a rainy day, and a spritz or three of a beautiful sandalwood scent = perfection. This is the only JHAG perfume I have on my wish list. I love that it is summer appropriate as some of my sandalwood perfumes are a bit heavy for the season. Thank you for the chance! US based.

  • Lara Anderson says:

JHAG is one of my favorite niche houses and have a number of their perfumes. Sandalwood is incredibly cozy and comforting. Would love to add another to my collection. This sounds perfect for summer and relaxing at home or when having a bad day and needing the perfect comfort scent. Thanks for the great review Sebastian! In the US.

  • Great fragrance! Love his subjective review and would love to win a bottle for wife’s 40th.

  • Enjoyed the review and fragrance sounds good. Like to get a chance and try it out. It’ll be nice for warm days. Thanks

Mmmmm, creamy…cozy…sandalwood! Great review Sebastian! I love how detailed your description of Sunny Side Up’s scent was! I’ve not yet tried anything from the house of JHAG, but this one definitely interests me. Thank you for the giveaway, and im located in the USA.

  • OudPecker says:

Creamy sandalwood sounds lovely. The sandalwoods I own are heavy and Sunny Side Up could be an awesome light summer scent. I’ve enjoyed Lady Vengeance, Midnight Oud, and Not a Perfume from this house so this one piques my interest. Thanks Sebastian and Ca Fleure Bon for the drawing! CT here.

  • What a lovely bottle. Sebastian’s review was great as always and i cannot wait to test this juice. I love Not a perfume from the line. Thanks for the draw

  • Thanks for the review of this fragrance. I love all things sandalwood and would love to try this scent. I appreciate the well informed reviews to keep me “in the know” 🙂

  • Frank Gambina says:

I enjoyed how Sebastian mentioned the different notes and the ones he was able to pick up. The comparison he made between the sandalwood note in this one as opposed to the earlier review was interesting. I can say I enjoy the note of sandalwood, especially the creamier type. Never tried any offerings from this brand, however this one sure peeps my interest.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews! This one sounds like a really pretty scent. I love sandalwood notes. I’ve never purchased anything from this line but I’ve smelled them in Sephora. I really liked Moscow Mule.
I live in the US (Pennsylvania)

  • jeremyn87 says:

I love creamy sandalwood since it’s kind of spicy and sweet, which would complement the vanilla. Curious how this would manage in the warm weather though; but I can see how the iso e super would make it more dry and effervescent.
I like Not a Perfume from this house

  • I haven’t had the chance to try any offering from this house but a creamy sandalwood fragrance sounds like something up my alley. I always enjoy Seb’s reviews and his take on the fragrance world. Nice review and thanks for throwing this giveaway. Cheers from CT

  • Lori Laws says:

I always love Sebastian’s reviews! The creaminess of the sandalwood paired with musk and jasmine sounds perfect for the hot days of summer. It sounds like the perfect pick me up when you don’t want to get out of bed. My favorite from this brand is Midnight Oud. Thanks for draw and I live in the US! 🙂

  • perfumelover67 says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always so details and energetic that they make you fall in love with an scent even before trying it. The notes on this perfume sound absolutely delicious! I enjoy Romantina from Juiet has a Gun. Thanks for the draw.

  • My favorite JHAG fragrance is Mmmm. I like Sebastian’s reviews because he always presents a succinct overview that not only gives you the main notes but also the ‘feeling’ of a fragrance. This one sounds particularly inviting!

  • I love Sebastian review of this fragrance Sunny side up. He always gives a very deep impression of fragrances. This fragrance sounds very great and I would love to put my nose on this scent. I love sandlewood. Thank you and have a very beautiful day.

  • WaltherP99 says:

Nise review as usual.Sebastian is so good with this-makes you feel like you’re holding the bottle and spraying yourself…I love creamy sadalwood fragrances with a hint of sweatness.
I’ve been following you,Sebastian ,Romano and Juliette Has A Gun on IG for a long time.
I do own full bottle of Into The Void and 30ml decant of Mmm.Into The Void is not from the same line as Sunny Side Up,but from more uspscale line.
