Juliette Has A Gun Moscow Mule (Romano Ricci) New Fragrance Review + #Getreadytoparty Draw

Romano Ricci of Juliette Has A Gun #getreadytoparty

The first time I met Romano Ricci in 2006,  he had just launched his first fragrances Lady Vengeance and Miss Charming. He agreed to be interviewed and was quite candid about his desire to become the sole perfumer of Juliette has A Gun (at that time he was working with Francis Kurkdjian). Romano spent 6 years working in the perfumery industry anonymously so that his famous surname (he is the great grand-son of designer and fragrance icon Nina Ricci) wouldn’t bias his teachers.  “When I decided to work with Francis Kurkdjian, I had clear ideas of what I wanted for Juliette, spending hours at the lab with him; it was a four hands work. After these different experiences, I felt ready to work by myself.

Moscow Mule via Juliette Has A Gun©

During the course of our conversation Romano sipped Veuve-Clicquot on the rocks! 12 years later he has another “cocktail” in his hand, Juliette Has A Gun Moscow Mule. I didn’t know what this ginger beer and vodka drink with a splash of lime was until last summer when my friend Jessica, who ordered a Moscow Mule, an alcoholic concoction served in a copper mug. I ordered one too. It was perfect for the overwhelmingly hot and humid night. Juliette Has A Gun Moscow Mule is a refreshing fragrance, citrus and woody and since it was 90 degrees here in New York City at 2PM, Juliette has A Gun Moscow Mule is perfect fragrance for the warm days ahead. #getreadytoparty

This sounds like a fragrance I’d be very interested in.
I really enjoyed Sebastian’s vivid description of the Fragrance.
Also, I appreciate how in-depth he was with the note break down.

  • joan mansbach says:

I haven’t even tried it and I already know it is a MUST HAVE. I adore Juliette Has A Gun “Midnight Oud.” It is such a favorite that I cannot imagine anything from Romano Ricci being anything less than fabulous. I’m in the U.S. and ready to be delighted. Thank you!

  • olleriksson says:

Moscow Mule is actually my favorite cocktail, so this sounds like something right up my alley! Love that Sebastian basically talks about starting the day with a cocktail! Haven’t tried anything from this brand, but it keeps popping up all around me. I have relatives in the US who can receive the bottle if I win. Thanks!

  • Southernboy says:

Would have agree with Sebastian, there are many drinks that could be great fragrances but only a few nail . This looks like it will a great summer scent for the summer or beach . Can not wait to get a sample of Frangrance.

  • Eric Sanchez says:

I really enjoyed the review of this fragrance by Sebastian. I’ve seen this reviewed by other reviewers but I really enjoyed how in depth the review of the fragrance which more accurately describes the true essence of what the fragrance is meant to be, which in this case is a Moscow Mule. Each video that a view makes me want to go try out a fragrance or blind buy an entire bottle.

  • I enjoy Sebastian’s no nonsense explanation of the scent breakdown. Quick and to the point. This scent sounds lovely

  • Shelby Bolin says:

I love how Sebastian describes how the fragrance starts out crip and fruity and when you get to the base you get the woody aspect but it’s a soft wood. I feel like I can really get a good sense for what this fragrance will smell like from his description! My favorite Juliette has a gun fragrance is Miss Charming! I love how this rose fragrance is sweet but not overpowering. This fragrance gives a girl a touch of feminine and power!

  • Jake smith says:

I love a good Moscow mule! This one sounds perfect for the desert heat I’m going to have to look into this one. Ginger, lime, and bergamot you cant go wrong.

  • Wolframii says:

Ginger, citrus, sandalwood, isoesuper, and ambroxan!!! Sounds like an awesome fragrance that fits my tastes. Sebastian describes it makes you want to take a good sniff that positive uplifting stuff and buy a bottle! Awesome to have a chance at winning.

  • Just Add Light says:

Very glad to hear that the ginger in this one is not too spicy, because mixed with an aromatic lime, it could have easily become too heady. Surprise that it’s Sebastian’s first JHAG! My favourite so far has been Into the Void – a rather dark and “tarry” concoction – although there are a few I haven’t tried but would definitely like to, like Calamity J. and Lady Vengeance. They may not all be crowd pleasers, but consider me part of a different crowd!

  • Andie Paige says:

I have been a follower of Sebastian for a good while now. I trust his nose. For me, his reviews have always been accurate and thorough. I have yet to try this, but would love to!

  • Dhruba Dasgupta says:

I’m definitely interested with all the buzz started about this. The combination for these well known notes of iso e super, ambroxan, and sandalwood definitely makes me interested. Also one of my favorite cocktails is the Moscow mule. Always love Sebastian’w eloquent reviews!

  • Bast always gives unique fragrances that I never would have known existed

  • Thak you Sebastian for this interesting review.
Interesting idea to create perfume inspired by cocktail, although is is not new- I remember Guerlain Homme (mojito).
I like Moscow Mule pyramid- ginger, lime, bergamot, in heart apple, Iso E Super and in base notes: ambroxan and woody notes. sounds very fresh and wearable.
But I hope this perfume is not generic citrusy fresh perfume as Light Blue.

I just got a sample of this in the mail today and am excited to compare Sebastian’s reaction to my own. I, too, don’t have any other fragrances from this house.

  • Always love Sebastian’s reviews. This is my favorite cocktail and I’ve been looking to try this house. Love how he explains that circumstances is best for.

Should be registered I clicked the link to confirm and it says my username already exists 🙂

  • cdb73110 says:

Great review. Loving every note listed. Enjoyed how he talked about it really reminding him of the drink. Quite aromatic sounding. Drawn to and love these types of fragrances. I enjoy Oil Fiction from Juliett. Looking forward to giving this fragrance a nice wearing for this summer. In the USA. Thanks Sebastian and Cafleurebon.

  • fazalcheema says:

Given the strong drinking tradition in Russia, it is appropriate that Romano has made Moscow Mule with cocktail vibe. This looks like a good summer wear from Sebastian’s review. thanks for the draw. My favorite from Juliette has a Gun is Midnight Oud. I am in US

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. Haven’t tried any fragrance from this House. This one does interest me and I think it’ll be great for the warm sunny days. Thanks
    California

  • What I like most about Sebastian’review is that his passion for fragrances always comes through in his videos which always makes it enjoyable to watch. I’ve never tried Juliette has A Gun so I would love to try this cologne. Thank you for the giveaway!!

  • gvillecreative says:

Funny side note– it wasn’t until I watched one of Sebastian’s reviews last year that I realized I had been mispronouncing Cafleurebon all these years that I have been a reader, when I talked about the site or just pronounced it in my mind!

Sebastian’s reviews always have a mix of the passionate perfume collector PLUS the expert knowledge on the details of the aromachemicals (and this review is no exception). Combined, that makes his reviews very unique.

Moscow Mule sounds like a great frag. I liked two of JHaG’s earlier fragrances; this was one of the first niche perfume lines that I tried and that made me realize that there was a lot more to the perfume hobby than the typical “mall” brands. Lady Vengeance is my favorite– it’s the perfect dark rose that every collection needs, and it has incredible lasting power. I’ve heard GREAT things about Moscow Mule and love the idea of a fizzy, ginger and apple and bergamot combo. Fingers crossed! Because I really think this one is for me! I’m in the US, in case this is country specific and that rules me out.

Thanks for the great review and great drawing!

  • chris smith says:

I’ve heard about this fragrance house alot but have yet to try it out but this Moscow mule sounds great to add to my collection

  • Armin Figo Dante says:

first of all thanks a lot for this giveaway and thanks also to Sebastian to try this Moscow Mule, im realy sure it will be a summer banger, Sebastian said the ginger is verry nice and combos with apple note in base note, i love ginger and apple a lot, i really loved Sebastians review, juts trying my luck to win this newly gem, appreciate it so much Cafleurbon for the USA giveaway, California USA here.

  • Sebastian is great at describing a fragrance. The level of detail is impressive and allows me to imagine the smell without actually having it in front of me. Have never tried a JHaG…..

  • khalilnasir says:

I would love to try this, Sebastian made it sound as though it would be a great scent for the summer and a great fragrance to explore this house with.

  • I always enjoy Sehastian’s reviews. I love me a Moscow Mule, so that is what intrigued me about this fragrance. While I was watching Sebastian’s explanation I couldn’t help thinking about Lubin’s Gin Fizz. The bottom notes in the explanation I am not familiar with, but the apple and ginger combination have to be a treat. It will be perfect for the summer heat. My favorite Juliette Has A Gun has to be Midnight Oud. Thanks so much for the opportunity and I live in the US! 🙂

  • jeremyn87 says:

I’ve tried Not a Perfume. I recall liking it. I don’t think I’ve tried any others.
I also like the idea of using cocktails as an inspiration for fragrances. Moscow mules would be awesome for the summer. Especially since Sebastian makes it sound very vibrant, fresh, and uplifting.
    I’m in the US

  • cdees818 says:

This perfume sounds perfect! I currently wear Juliette Has A Gun- Not a perfume as my everyday scent. It is so lovely and I always get compliments. I love the way it smells on me and I love the creativity of this brand. The Mascow Mule has been a fun drink that I’ve enjoyed with friends and I love the idea of the perfume.

  • as always, sebastian gives very colorful descriptions and scenarios in his reviews. this one he gave a note of liquor that makes perfumes so niche and rich. hope to get this one U.S.A.

  • JHAG Has amazing fragrances, I had no idea about the background story of the company or founder, and its nice to know this fragrance house works with some of the best of the best!!
I enjoyed the colorful and descriptive review, i am so intrigued by this summer scent would love to win this! USA!

  • Thanks for this review!!! I am intrigued by Sebastian description, just I am searching new perfume for summer.
Only I hope that this perfume has good sillage.

  • Dean Thanos says:

Great subjective review. To be perfectly up front and honest I’d love to win Moscow Mule only because I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews online lately and it has me intrigued.
-I can’t find it anywhere to sample and don’t want to blind buy online.

    Keeping my fingers crossed.

  • I like ISO E Super as a perfume note. I have not smelled the Moscow Mule cocktail. Would love to have this for summer. US

  • cocacarlo says:

Been a subscriber for a few years now and I always enjoy how Sebastian breaks down the notes and explains the ingredients in fragrances. It certainly cements him as an authoritative figure and gives him credibility. In this particular review, I loved how he described this scent as a crowdpleaser and a summertime fragrance. That’s rather useful! Additionally, cocktail-inspired fragrances are so intriguing. I’m in the USA!

  • Chase Dickinson says:

I always love Sebastian’s videos and this one is no different. He is so thorough, yet not boring or “wordy”. He is so good at breaking down the notes and helping us imagine what a fragrance must be like. Thank you for the opportunity! (IG: Scentthusiast) USA

  • Thanks for the review and giveaway! I love ginger and lime (and drinking Moscow mules!) so this sounds right up my alley. I haven’t seen a review of this before so thanks for explaining the notes. I’m in California.

  • Bernie777 says:

I personally have not sampled this house yet. I see reviews occasionally and it sounds like a solid house. I always enjoy the way Sebastian describes the sent profile. I almost can smell it. I would like to have this bottle as it would be my first. Thanks.

  • m.r.everything says:

This was a great review from Sebastian! I love how he compared it to the actual drink. Its not alcoholic, but inspired by the drink. I also found it interesting that he said this is his first from the house! Moscow Mule was on my list of definitely sampling when I first heard about it. Then, I started seeing a few reviewers coming out with their thoughts, and it makes me just buy a full bottle! I have Not A Perfume by Juliette Has A Gun and I really enjoy that scent. I have a few others as well that I would like to try from them. Oil Fiction, Into the Void, Metal Chypre, and any one of their ouds sound great! Thanks for the opportunity! I live in Delaware, USA!

  • doowtnehpets says:

Sebastian always does a good job describing the fragrances. Saw another review on this and it sounds like a great suer scent. Only had a sample of Mmmmm… I got for free that wasn’t all that interesting. This sounds great, though.

  • Daniel o says:

I love the way sebastion describes fragrances in his reviews. He is thorough without being too technical or boring.

  • Antonio Otero says:

Sebastian does incredibly thorough reviews… and the way he described Moscow Mule sounds incredible. If he says its a great fragrance then it must be so. I have purchased a few of his recommendations and have been super happy with my blind buys all because of his reviews.

  • Love Sebastian’s reviews. This one sounds like a refreshing summer fragrance. Great to have a fragrance inspired by a cocktail.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews!! This one sounds so uplifting and fresh for summer. I love the lime and bergamot top notes. My favorite from the line is Lady Vengeance because it’s so deep and sexy. This one sounds like its polar opposite and I’d love to try it!
    I live in the U.S.

  • Love Sebastian’s detailed description of this scent! I adore Moscow Mules so would love to win this.
Have tried several JHAG scents and love their candles. I live in the U.S.
    Thanks for the generous giveaway!

  • I’ve never had a Moscow Mule beverage but after hearing Sebastian’s review I’m intrigued to try this perfume as I love ginger and lime notes. My favorite JHAG is Sunny Side Up perfume and I’m in the U.S. Thank you!

  • Michael J. Fitta says:

I’ve been sober for over 8 years now, but I would gladly enjoy a Moscow Mule with either Sebastian OR Romano! Sounds like just the pick-me-up that one expects from a summertime fragrance, with the touch of the unexpected that Juliette always delivers. I love this brand’s unique perspective (Lady Vengeance and Midnight Oud are favorites), and I would gladly make some room in my Juliette bullet atomizer for some Moscow Mule to go! Keep up the great work.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

It’s good to see Juliette has a Gun release a fragrance that most men will enjoy in the summer. I’ve heard of this brand for years, and have always disregarded it as mostly for women. I think that will change with Sebastian’s review.

  • I absolutely love the idea and the list of notes. My favorite is Lady Vengeance. Thanks for the chance!

  • Fusiongel says:

I’ve been following Seb for a while now. interesting review. I use to be apprehensive about lime based fragrances, but now I can’t get enough of them. Thanks for the chance to try this one out.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always educational, detailed, and honest. This one is no exception not only does he break down the notes but even goes a step further to break down exactly how specific notes are represented, smell and the perfumers use of the ingredient.

  • James2473 says:

Hi, and thanks for a great article and amazing review! My favorite part of Sebastian’s review is how descriptive and honest it was. Very enjoyable! I’m located in the U.S.

  • Billiestimpson says:

The only Juliette has a gun scent I’ve been able to test to far has been lady vengeance, bit I’m so keen to see how moscow mule plays with my skin! I love how clearly and articulately Sebastian was in breaking down the notes and how they manifest. It’s so easy to get only a superficial idea of a scent with the official release from the company, I always appreciate hearing from a passionate reviewer!

  • aquanitemare says:

I’ve been eyeing this perfume since it isn’t rose-themed like the other Juliette Has a Gun scents. I personally enjoy Moscow Mules, and thought it was wonderful how Sebastian described the journey of the fragrance while comparing it to the cocktail. It seems like the perfect scent to lighten the summer heat and I would love to try it!

  • WaltherP99 says:

Nise review as usual.Sebastian is so good with this-makes you feel like you’re holding the bottle and spraying yourself…I’ve been following you,Sebastian and Juliette Has A Gun on IG for a long time.
I do own full bottle of Into The Void and 30ml decant of Mmm.Into The Void is not from the same line as Moscow Mule, but from more uspscale line.

  • Patrick Echevarria says:

Moscow Mule happens to be a favorite cocktail of one of my friend so I have an idea how it smells so based on Sebastians description,it appears to be different since he said it isn’t boozy at all. Interesting how they used to name of the cocktail when this one isn’t boozy at all. JHAG frags has been a fixture at Sephora but hasn’t really tested any of them so it would be my first JHAG frag if I get lucky with this giveaway. San Diego,USA

  • Missed the contest but I do want to smell this fragrance one day. The review was excellently made and gave me a true interest in this frag. Blessings!
