Jovoy Paris Rouge Pavillion Review (Marie Schnirer) 2018 + Boozy Tobacco Perfume Draw

Perfumer Marie Schnirer of MAELSTROM  and Francois Henin of Jovoy Paris

Jovoy Paris Parfums, founded by Creative Director Francois Henin has had an excellent year with two outstanding releases, Remember Me (Cecile Zarokian) and Jovoy Paris Rouge Pavillion (MarieSchnirer, a young perfumer with Maelstrom who works with Patrice Revillard and Yohan Cervi— lez nez behind Iris de Fath). Translated from the French, Rouge Pavillion means red flag (there’s a pirate story connected in the marketing copy… let’s move on, as we find it more a posh gentleman’s club fragrance), but there’s no red flag when it comes to this perfume.

Do NOT stop until you get your nose on Jovoy Rouge Pavillion, a boozy tobacco parfum with ebony wood at the base (it is one if not the only wood that won’t float, so perhaps that is the treasure chest the privateers left at the bottom of the ocean. ÇaFleureBon was the first to review the new Jovoy perfumes in 2011 and we all are fans of the house.

  • I love the way Sebastian describes this fragrance, he makes it sound like it could be something from By Kilian, which is a house I adore. He says it has whisky AND rum, that’s a lot of booze! I’ve yet to smell a Jovoy fragrance, but Sebastian has spoken highly of them before in past videos so I look forward to trying one.

  • middleagedandmixed says:

I’ve yet to try any fragrances from Jovoy Paris but have been wanting to mainly because of Sebastian’s reviews. There’s one he says always gets him complements which is not something I look for, but I figure if folks stop him asking what his fragrance is, it must be a fantastic scent. I’m very intrigued by the new release, Pavillon Rouge because I’m a fan of tobacco and boozy fragrances. He describes it opening with a big boozy blast with sesame that adds creaminess. I’m so curious to smell sesame in a fragrance especially one with tobacco and whisky notes. I’m in U.S.

  • I adore Sebastian’s enthusiastic reviews. His appreciation of great smelling perfumes always shows thru in his videos. I’m a huge fan of unisex fragrances & would love to be the lucky winner. USA

  • Great review! Thank you once again. Would love to try this. The Jovoy I love the most is Incident Diplomatique.

  • Philippe Bertrand says:

I enjoy both smoking a great cigar paired with a great drink. His description of the perfume is reminiscent of that enjoyable experience. It would be amazing to wear this scent on my future cigar lounge visits. I can already imagine the amount of compliments and inquiries I will get because of Pavillon Rouge.

  • Per your review I ordered a sample of Incident Diplomatique, and I absolutely love it. Curious to try this one though.

  • saadfragrance says:

Sebastian is the reason i have a bottle of psychadelique with me and i absolutely adore that fragrance. love sebastians choice in fragrances and his description of this one was so mouthwatering. I hope i win, please do enter me in the giveaway. Thank you

  • yungcherrypops says:

Sebastian turned me onto Jovoy in the first place! Love Incident Diplomatique and love the sound of this one! Sebastian is the best Youtube fragrance reviewer and this review of Rouge Pavillion is no exception. Short, sweet, extremely informative and descriptive as always. Alabama, USA, and my Youtube user name is polaroid caesar.

  • Hello!

Thanks so much for the review. I absolutely love cafleurebon and Sebastian for finding out about new fragrances. I’m always looking for new fragrances and you guys know how to spark my interest. After watching the video this has immediately been added to my luckyscent card to try a sample of. My eyes immediately widened with joy as I read off the note breakdown. One thing I have to mention is that the bottle is absolutely gorgeous and quite possibly my most favorite ever. Thanks so much as always and keep up the great material!

  • Thanks to Sebastian for reviewing Jovoy Paris Pavillion Rouge. Foremost, I have the Remember Me which he also suggested for cold scent and it is so smelling good on me.
Pavillion Rouge is a great masculine or unisex , I smelled the sample and pretty sure my husband would loved this. He is a smoker, loves rum and whiskey lol.
Would love to win this for him.

    Good luck everyone.

    Thank you.

  • im a fan of Jovoy Paris perfumes and looking forward to owning my own full bottle. i trust Sebastian’s reviews and always follow his recommendations. i look forward to winning this giveaway for my xmas gift because im both a lover for tobacco and leather parfums but the vanilla note twist makes this a rich man’s fragrance. this is how rich people smell

  • Again Sebastian with a great review. I’ve always wanted to try anything from this house but no luck yet. I like those bottles and presentation and i’ve heard only extraordinary things about the fragrances from this house. I love boozy and tobacco notes, so this has to be a winner. Thanks for the giveaway, Oakland USA.

  • I love how sabastian described this fragrance m as kes me really wanna try it. I haven’t tried any jovoy fragrances yet but I would love to try this one.

  • Sebastian is one of best fragrance reviewers that there is. Hes always informing us of fragrances that most havent heard of and the passion for fragrances is always shown in every video. I havent experienced a Jovoy fragrance but Sebastian had my attention as soon as he said WHISKEY lol. I love boozy fragrances and this one sounds great.

  • Great note breakdown and I loved how he compared it to a night out sitting in a leather chair with whiskey and a cigar. I have regrettably never had my nose on jovoy perfumes. Great review.

  • Great review once again. The sound of whiskey and rum definitely reminds me of this kilian frag I once tried. I’ve never had ebony wood before so this would be really interesting to smell. Lovely looking bottle. From Montana USA

  • I’ll start of by saying that Jovoy is one of my favorite Niche Houses.
Remember Me and Psychédélique are absolute masterpiece and I REALLY enjoy wearing both.

What I loved the most about Sebastian’s Review was how he described the spices being balanced by the ebony wood and vanilla (the gourmand type).

    That really apealled to me…
Boozy+Tobacco+Vanilla+Woods is definitely what I enjoy wearing on fall.
Hope I can win this draw.

  • Enrico Conti says:

When Sebastian gets excited with this company you know it is a good company the man owns thousands of bottles of cologne

  • My god, these notes! Sebastian makes e want to take off my clothes and dance on a bar top. I love Jovoy, especially vintage-inspired ones. Thanks for the giveaway. Fingers crossed.

  • Boozy vanilla tobacco sounds like heaven. As always sebastian describes this in amazing detail and makes it sounds just delicious. I haven’t tried anything from jovoy yet but I hear good things about the line. Thanks for the giveaway. I am in the USA in AZ.

  • Khalid Ahmed says:

Like his note breakdowns and the fact his collection is always so different from the ret makes it more interesting to blind buy most of his reviewed fragrances

  • Sebastian is a such an experienced and great reviewer. I listen only few of them and I consider him an expert. I like the way he describes the scent and how he translate the smell into the real life. I love Jovoy Paris and I own Incident Diplomatic. I was convinced by Sebastian’s review and I pulled the trigger. This is one of my favorites in my collection. I also like Private Label. I smelled Pavillon Rouge as well and really liked it. It would be great to have it in my collection. Thank you for giveaway.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s enthusiasm in this review. Sounds wonderful, he seemed to really like this one. I’ve never tried anything from Jovoy Paris.

  • Just Add Light says:

This is it! This is the one! Essentially all of my favourite notes in one bottle – tobacco, booze, coffee, woods and spices. Oh how my heart is palpitating right now… Haven’t tried anything from the house, but if I were to sample, this one would definitely be first! Really loved Sebastian’s description of the strong tobacco-y mid and vanilla base as well as the men’s club analogy. Literally all of my favourite frags have that vibe, so you can imagine my excitement. Such a great lineup of giveaways Michelyn! NC-USA.

  • No experience with Jovoy, but I do know they have a sterling reputation in the community. LOVE a good boozy tobacco more than any other category. The combo normally exudes class and refinement. Sebastian hit this one out of the park. His power of description is second to none.

  • I love watching Sebastian’s reviews. He’s enthusiastic but without losing his elegance. His critiques and descriptions of the fragrance he’s showing us are so clear and specific. It’s very easy to decide on the spot if the scent goes on the “to try out asap” list. I’m not very familiar with the Jovoy line except that I liked what I smelled when I quickly checked them out in a boutique, but don’t remember which ones I liked best. Thanks for the generous draw. Boozy gentleman’s club fragrances are one of my favorite types. Good luck everyone!

  • Sebastian is my go to YouTuber for fragrance reviews! I’m incredibly lucky to have been able to smell most of the Jovoy line (my favorites being Psychedelique and Private Label and Incident Diplomatique), and I knew immediately that when Sebastian compared Rouge Pavillion to those fragrances that I would love this one too! As always, Sebastian is incredibly detailed in describing the development and performance of the fragrances he reviews as I know he thoroughly tests each and every one before filming. Can’t give enough praise to this house or Sebastian! And thanks for doing this giveaway! WA, USA.

  • I love the house own Private Label, Incident Dip, Psychedelic, and love the way Sabastain describe the notes. I am looking forward as tobacco and bozzy are my favorite notes

    Cheers from New York

  • I’ve been trying out some Jovoy fragrances and love boozy scents so when I saw Ssebasfian’s review, I had a feeling that I’d have to check this one out.
I don’t smoke but can definitely enjoy sitting back in an old leather chair, from a boutique cigar lounge, sipping whiskey or rum.

  • Sebastian is the reason that I sampled Jovoy when visiting a fragrance boutique while on vacation. This review is no exception for the talented Sebastian. Boozy tobacco sounds pretty cool. Thanks for the draw and thanks for a wonderful review. I’m in the US.

  • Just finished watching the video. Jovoy is another House that I’m attracted to even though I haven’t tried any of their fragrances. This one sounds really good. Hope to get a chance. Thanks
    California

  • I really enjoy how thorough Sebastian is in his reviews.
He paints a vivid picture the environment this fragrance reminisces.
Sebastian also provides a pretty accessible frame of reference (I.e. comparing it to jazz club) to give an even more detailed description.
I am a fan of jovoy’s, as their fragrances hit the mark of what I typically enjoy.
    Thanks!

  • I like the way Sebation goes into detail what smell is in the perfumes and cologne. He describes the smell in such detail you can almost smell the way it is. He is awesome.

  • So to be honest, I haven’t had any fragrances by Jovoy, but this one sounds amazing to me. A boozy tobacco fragrance with ebony? Sign me up! By the way, I’m a hobbiest knifemaker and woodworker, and I would like to say in regards to what you wrote about Ebony, yes it is one of the only woods that is more dense than water, but it is not THE only one. Lignum vitae, desert ironwood, snakewood, and African blackwood are a few others off the top of my head that I know sink.
Anyway, thanks for the giveaway! I’m from Michigan.

  • Sebastian’s review shows this is gourmand take on tobacco. It plays with the contrast between vanilla and tobacco while also incorporating other popular woody and gourmand notes. My fav. from Jovoy is rouge assassin. I am in US

  • Have not tried anything Jovoy. This would be a great start winning a bottle. Tobacco frags are nice, but boozy tobacco is even nicer. US

  • Sebastian’s reviews are spot on for the way they are described…have not tried a fragrance from the house of Jovoy….but this sounds decadent…with the whiskey & rum notes….

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. I absolutely love those mid notes of Coffee, Tobacco, Tea, Leather. I have never tried anything from the Jovoy’s line. I will definitely be adding this scent to my wishlist. I’m always looking for new tobacco based fragrances.

    I live in the USA.

  • Sebastian describing it at boozy and tobacco makes me interested. I have yet to have the chance to smell anything from Jovoy. In US.

  • I really loved the boozy notes with tobacco it sounds so amazing!! I’m a big fan and can’t wait to try this new fragrance out!! Thank
    Amirpasha , USA CALIFORNIA

  • Sebastians reviews always resonate with me. We seem to have very similar tastes. His description of the boozy tobacco nature of this perfume is intriguing!

  • I do not tired to say that Sebastian reviews are great! This time not an exception- very simple, beautiful and informative.
I like boosy tabacco perfumes. And hope I will like this new Jovoy.
I like Jovor Paris perfume ecpecially Private Lable.
    US, DE

  • Beautiful review! Bravo Sebastian.
Such a interesting, beautiful ingredients- rum, whiskey, leather, tea, tobacco and vanilla. All this ingredients I love love love.
I am looking forward to discovery this new perfume.
I find Jovoy Paris perfume very interesting and love Incident Diplomatique.
    USA

  • Sebastian’s way of describe a fragrance really lures you into imagining a lot of mental pictures. It reminds me of a by Kilian fragrance with the boozy and woodsy components. Besides, it’s not the first time that Sebastian has talked positively about Jovoy Paris, so I thinks this is a great gem. I haven’t tried any of those frags. USA. Thanks

  • Sebastian is really pushing Jovoy, but I don’t think I’ve heard him mention Les Jeux Sont Faits which is my fave. He has me interested in Pavillion Rouge and Private Label. I can attest with LJSF that the bottles are really cool, but be careful taking them from the sleeve!

  • I love me some boozy fragrances! Sebastian is an all-star and I love how we breaks down each note and compares the fragrance to others to help understand what it resembles. Tobacco, whiskey, leather and vanilla?! Say no more. I’ll be finding a way to get a sample of this! I really like the uniqueness of Jovoy Paris perfumes. Arkansas, USA

  • BostonScentGuy says:

This sounds great! Love how much he underscores the booziness here, and he described it in uncompromising terms. Love hearing that the overall impression is of tobacco and leather after the big boozy note. Also I didn’t know ebony wood didn’t sink. I have tried some Jovoy and have enjoyed them a lot–not super familiar. They have one that reminds me of Bois de Violette (Enfant Terrible maybe???) and I enjoyed that one a lot. Thanks for the draw! I’m in the US.

  • I love boozy scents and Sebastion review gives fine details on the fragrance like no other can. CA, Folsom.

  • I appreciate how in depth Sebastian goes on his reviews, it’s like he paints a fragrant picture with his descriptions. Jovoy is easily in my top 5 houses, and this newest release sounds absolutely delicious. I’m in Massachusetts, US.

  • catbeaulieu@gmai says:

I do not know the house and would love to discover it. I love the combination of booze+leather+coffee+vanilla! It sounds volumptuous and sensual. Ebony wood is so precious, deep and rich. I love Sebastian’s review alluding to leather sofas, cigars and overall intensity! Pavillon rouge is also the name of a very expensive French also known as “Chateau Margaux”. So it is meant to be luxurious… Thank you!

  • Jesse Livingston says:

I love the way Sebastian described this fragrance. It sounds very unique and something I would love to add to my collection. I’ve never tried Jvoy but as much as Sebastian talks about this company I am determined to get my hands on a bottle. Good luck to everyone participating!

  • Thanks Sebastian! I would love to try this fragrance! I love Psychedelique from Jovoy. I know that this one is a winner. Thank you for the chance.

  • Nice review and learning about a new perfumer. I love rum and boozy tobacco perfume. Interesting that ebony wood doesn’t float. I like psychedelique and always wanted to try another fromJovoy.

    Thank you for the chance

  • michaelprince83 says:

I love the way Sebastian describes the note and fragrance breakdown of Jovoy Pavillion Rouge. Based on the notes I know I would love this fragrance because I am into boozy, leather, tobacco, and woody fragrances.

  • Unfortunately never had a chance to try Jovoy yet. From his description as sort of a more richer, stronger jazz club, i can get a good idea of the amazing character of this fragrance. Would love to try it !

  • Thanks for this fantastic opportunity.
Again such a nice job by the best Youtube reviewer-tobacco ,spicy and boozy+ coffee i love.
Jovoy Paris is by far the best fragrance boutique i’ve ever been to-no US boutique comes even close .
I do not own full Jovoy bottles atm, but i have 2 big 30ml decants of Incident Diplomatique and Incident Private Label-both must try for every patchouli lover.
    Cheers from VA

  • I enjoy Sebastian’s reviews because they are straightforward without needing bells and whistles to keep the viewer interested. He introduces me to many lines that I am not familiar with, such as Jovoy. I live in an area that has very limited options to test fragrances in stores and in the last year 2 stores that carried fragrances have closed, therefore I rely heavily on reviewers who are honest and not paid. Sebastian seems to enjoy the same types of fragrances that I like and with this latest review of Pavillon I am looking forward to smelling it.

  • I agree with many of the above comments. Maybe I’m too old and grumpy but a lot of the male vloggers annoy me because it seems more about them than the perfume. Sebastian is low key and informative. He always puts the perfume in the forefront. I’ve not been lucky enough to be near any place that carries the Jovoy line but this sounds marvelous.

  • Joyvoy is an amazing perfume house.
Thank to Sebastian’s youtube review that i have discover Jovoy,
i got the Incident Diplomatic, and it is amazing.
    Sebastians youtube channel is pure.
i just simply like the way he explains the perfumes.
i just simply know what he likes i will like.
Incident Diplomatic is a wonderful example.
    thank you for that.
    cheers

  • Thank you for this draw !
Sebastian is so good with this-every time i’m watching his videos i feel like i’m holding the bottle of the fragrance his reviewing and spraying it all over myslef haha.Bought over 15 fragrances during the years because of him.I will sample Pavillon Rouge for sure.
From Jovoy as a brand i do own full bottle of the famous Les Jeux sont Faits – fantastic night out scents. One of the best out there-to me at least.Adore boozy fragrances , and if Pavillon Rouge is on pair with Les Jeux sont Faits , i will buy it 100%.
I do like Cecile Zarokian as a perfumer. My scent of the day is Curacao Bay-one of her creations.
    I do follow @cafleurebon @lookfeelsmellgreat , @Amerikasnyc @jovoyparis + @cecilezarokianparfumeur on instagram

  • Sebastian always has such wonderful reviews. Sebastian definitely loves his boozy fragrances and this one sounds wonderful with the woodsy tobacco intereoven throughout. Sounds just cozy and alluring! I’ve never tried anything from Jovoy Paris but it definitely sounds like a great house. Thanks for th giveaway. I live in the USA.

  • Thanks for another great review, Sebastian! Thanks for reviewing another scent from this famous house. A tobacco, boozy, creamy fragrance sounds really good. I haven’t tried any Jovoy yet so I hope to win this draw. Thanks for this opportunity. California, USA

  • I lucked out in finding Sebastian before all the other perfume vloggers so I’m kinda spoiled.. No I am spoiled, but his knowledge, passion and just all around good guy ness. Loved his review, haven’t tried any Jovoy yet, so my next round of sampling will definitive include this one… If I don’t win! Thanks for the generous draw, in the us

  • Great review as always Sebastian!! You seem to be gushing about this more than usual! Sounds fabulous. I love that it has a big and intense presence. My local shop carries this line and I do not know how I have not explored it more. I have only smelled “Remember Me” which I did enjoy a lot. My local shop says that can’t keep that one in stock. I wonder if it will be that way for Pavillion Rouge. Thanks for the chance!! USA.

  • Okay as soon as he said Jazz club i was sold. Ive been so curious about this house because of Sebastian. He always gives good praises about Jovoy and it”s unique and powerful scents. I always love me some spicy boozy fragrances, but what im most curious about it the sesame note. I wonder how that’ll pop out amongst the strong notes surrounding it. Hoping to win the giveaway! Thank you again for your generosity! I love how we perfume lovers have this gateway for talking about perfumes in a poetic sense.

  • After watching Sebastian’s review, I’ve become a fan of Jovoy Paris perfumes. He breaks it down and talks in depth about the notes. His excitement is always contagious.

    I live in California.

  • I had a few perfumes from Jovoy in the past and really enjoyed them. Pavillion Rouge sounds like something I would love to smell on my husband…and maybe try it on my own skin from time to time.

  • Beautifull review.Unlike some other guys here I’m abut new to the fragrance game.Subscribed to Sebastian’s YouTube channel last month.I love boozy fragrances and Rouge Pavillion sounds like it’s made especially for me-whiskey,rum,leather and tobacco?Thats me- no doubt about it.I can’t say I’m a fan of Jovoy Paris, because I know just one-Remember Me. Received it for my birthday, and I love it.Thank you for the generosity.Usa

  • Sebastian is how I found Cafleurebon so he can do no wrong by me. He’s also the person that made me try out some more boozy centric fragrances and I’m glad I gave them more of a chance. The new Jovoy sounds like a great whiskey scent. The notes seem pretty classic for this kind of perfume with some interesting touches to set it apart. I’ll have to get my nose on this.

  • Sebastian reviewed Jazz club on his channel sometime ago and I didn’t think much of it then. I tried it some months later and was wowed and bought it. His enthusiasm for Rouge Pavilion is greater than for Jazz Club. I’m also very interested in the sesame note. California, USA

  • I was checking Sebastian’s reviews on boozy tobacco scents since I am doing holiday shopping for my bf. He always gives a lot of details and provides very thorough description about the scent.

Haven’t tried Jovoy Paris before. Thanks for the opportunity.

    I am in California.
