Cecile Zarokian and Matthieu Appriou
One of the most creative intersections of art and fragrance occurred in September of 2011 at the Paris exhibition called Reves de la Beaute. Perfumer Cecile Zarokian (Amouage Epic Woman, Undergreen Pink, Majda Bekkali Mon Nom Est Rouge and Jovoy Private Label) and Illustrator Matthieu Appriou collaborated on six pieces which fused an illustration and a fragrance. They called it [IP]01 which stood for illustrator perfumer collaboration 1. For three the fragrance inspired the illustration and for the other three the illustration inspired the fragrance. Neil Sternberg wrote about this incredibly unique collaboration over two parts for CaFleureBon ( Part 1 & Part 2). I named it the best purely artistic collaboration of 2011.
