Briefly, J.F.K. was vacationing on the French Riviera in 1937 and met Albert Fourquet, a purveyor of fine fragrance and his butler Phillipe. John F.Kennedy was captivated by one particular cologne and charmed Foruquet into leaving him a sample. When he returned home to America, he wrote Albert Fourquet and asked for eight samples for his friends “Bob”, none other than his brother Robert F. Kennedy. J.F.K. named the fragrance Eight & Bob.
