Chanel Tisse Fantaisie (236) Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad Limited Edition and Chanel Tisse Paris (238)

Each season I eagerly await CHANEL's new beauty collection. I was so impressed with the Tisse Quadras from Fall, which are already showing pan. For Spring 2015, the collection of eye, lip and cheek colors' theme is "Dream of Paris", the colors of spring time in Paris. Which given the frigid weather and snow we have been experiencing sounds just like that…a dream.Shades of Coral and Fuschia predominate; ranging from whisper soft eyes to bold lips. Today I am reviewing the "Spring Tweeds"; Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Tisse Quads.

CHANEL describes the quad as "pink coral, white satin, pale green satin, and intense brown.” My skin tone is medium with golden undertones (Mac NC40 in the winter) and these descriptions are not accurate on me, but might be for a PPP or a FFF.  All four colors are warm.

Chanel Tisse Fantaisie (236) Les 4 spring Ombres Eyeshadow Quad Limited Edition 2015

Tisse Fantaisie #1: Very soft, almost sheer muted pink with apricot undertones. Better pigmentation when applied wet.

Tisse Fantaise #2: A nice highlighter with white semi-opaque shimmer that has golden undertones. Decent pigmentation and whether applied wet or dry the color was consistent. Not a ground breaking hue but works well in the quadra.

Tisse Fantaise #3: (shown above at the bottom) I would describe this as a warm grey with khaki olive undertones. #3 was more pigmented,  richer and looked beautiful when applied wet.  I don’t usually wear khaki colors which make me appear salllow, but #3 is quite flattering.

Tisse #4-Described as intense brown, #4 is a deep bronze with reddish plum undertones. I applied it twice to achieve the look above.

Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad Chanel Tisse Paris (238) ($61)

Neutral to warm toned, this palette is a quad of soft pinks and grey… CHANEL describes the shades as “soft rosewood, delicate ivory, intense rosewood and intense slate grey.” Every shadow was deeper and more pigmented when applied wet.

Tisse Paris #1:  On the cooler side of neutral, a medium light pink with subtle mauve undertones. A satin finish but not great color pay off.

Tisse Paris #2: As a accent color, I like Tisse Paris 2 more than Tisse Fantaisie 2, as it is less white and surprisingly has a more pronounced golden undertone. It has a frost finish which is fine as a highlighter and has the pigmentation and depth I had expected.  I used it in the inner corner of my eyes and my face brightened.

Tisse Paris #3: Not intense rosewood; rather a medium pink with a hint of brick undertone. I like the satin finish and this is a good crease color for lighter skintones.

Tisse Paris #4: Dark shimmer to metallic grey with a blue/teal duochrome . Must be applied with a damp brush to achieve a smoky look.

Compared to the Fall 2014 Tisse Quadras,  which I thought was outstanding, they both were a bit underwhelming; office tweeds. Both palettes did not suit my penchant for deeply pigmented eye shadow shades.  On the plus side, they are buttery, beautifully textured, a nice range of satin to frost, no fallout, minimal creasing, and long wearing.  If you love a soft look that is office friendly, I would recommend either or both. I use CHANEL Crayon Intense Kohl pencil #61 noir ($29.00) in my waterline and La Ligne de CHANEL eyeliner duo ($45) for tightlining  in order to achieve a more dramatic look.   I amped up the colors later on by using MAC Soft Ochre as a base. You may have a different experience, depending on your coloration and complexion.

I received these products for promotional consideration, opinions are my own. Most are available at chanel.com. Lighting was daylight. Tisse Fantaisie was applied with a damp brush.

  • I do like subtle colors and both these quads look so right for me. Love the fact they are buttery and beautifully textured. Thanks for the post..
