Profile: San Francisco based perfumer Yosh Han specializes in artisanal fragrances and vibrational perfumery. Using the finest ingredients from all over the world, each fragrance resonates with principles of chakra energy and numerology. Her eponymous collection is dedicated to creating a full wardrobe of perfumes – fragrance accessories for inner radiance. These can be found at exclusive retailers like Barneys New York, Lucky Scent, Henri Bendel and many haute parfumeries throughout Europe and now exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue in Dubai.
In the intimate setting of her home studio, she also offers workshops and bespoke perfumery for private clients and designs aromatic concepts for event based productions and other artistic companies. She consults for creative agencies on olfactory trends and perfume culture. Her work has been featured in many of the top fashion and beauty magazines in the world, including Elle, Marie Claire,Vogue, Lucky, Glamour, Allure and numerous newspapers and trade magazines, such as WSJ and WWD
In the niche perfume world, she has been fortunate to forge great friendships with Bay Area Scent Artists like Ineke Ruhland, Mandy Aftel, Julie Elliot, Jeanne Rose and Laurie Stern. They sometimes get together for perfume smelling sessions whilst enjoying aromatic teas and chocolates.
On American Perfumery: San Francisco has a great artistic vibe and one that is based on communal support. There is a wild west energy here so the Independent Spirit reigns supreme — creative ingenuity is the gold standard in San Francisco. Artists, chefs, chocolatiers, writers and designers cross-pollinate ideas regularly and this breeds a wonderful culture of openness and support. I have been lucky to work with non-industry creatives who want to push the envelope in their respective fields so I have been lucky to work on projects that are truly creative and not limited by traditional commerce.
In the spirit of of openess and support Yosh is offering a reader's choice from her Eaux de Yosh Parfums line(click on this link to read Mark Behnke's review).
