CaFleureBon Blogathon: Breast Cancer Awareness 10/28/2011 Keiko Mecheri, Smellbent & Aroma M + Three is Company Draw

October is breast cancer awareness month and what would a draw for any breast cancer awareness cause be without the color PINK .

About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime

Loukouhm  Les Keiko Mecheri

This photo was taken of Keiko and I at Spring fling Sniffapalooza Event 2010 at Takashimaya

This is the  perfume that began my olfactive journey in 2002 as a publicist for luckyscent. I was obsessed by the ultimate Turkish Delight…the sweet  rahat loukouhm candies that were used to feed  the voluptous beauties in Turkish harems, when plumpness was a plus. The scent evokes Candied rose petals and  almonds bathed in vanilla. Notes: hawthorn blossom, bulgarian rose absolute, precious woods, vanilla, Comores flowers, white almond, musk

value: $90 (a $5 donation)

SMELL BENT PINK PARTY Limited Edition

Brent Leonesio, the perfumer behind the Smell Bent line generously donated a 15 ml bottle of Pink Party perfume oil to CaFleureBon to assist in our efforts during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Created with a sparkling, crisp top note of pink grapefruit, the scent is a happy citrus tamed by an almost poignant orange blossom and sultry candied musks. Imagine a perfect serving of a ruby-pink grapefruit half, sprinkled liberally with a hearty raw sugar, and you’ll get the idea. Great to perk up a gloomy day!- Tama Blough , Editor

 Value $55 (a $1donation)

Aroma m Geisha Pink

East meet West in this seductive sugar plum fairy of a fragrance. Notes of orange will uplift you and vanilla is soothing . The result is a sweet and chic kiss on the skin'

1/4 oz Oil valued at $44 ($1 donation)

ALL THREE are a $5.00 donation, wear one yourself , and give two to a friend (although you may want  to waft  them all).

Suzanne Sommers, John Ritte r(RIP)  and  Joyce de Witt

I dedicate this post to Suzanne Somers who was born October 16, 1946.  Breast Cancer Survior and diagnosed in 2001;  an advocate for alternative cancer treatment she is now cancer free. Ms. Somers starred as the sexy, ditzy  Chrissy Snow in Three's Company from 1977-1981 (Brent you are John Ritter; were you even born in 1977).  She might be pretty, but she wasn't dumb. Suzanne asked CBS to be paid as much as actors Alan Alda of M*A*S*H  and Carroll O'Connor of All in the Family who were making twice her salary. Certainly not a blonde moment.

She also was a Playboy Centerfold. (I almost was tempted to buy the Thigh Master on the infomercial and has a line of clothes with ShopNBC.and was named one of the sexiest woman over 50 by zimbio.com. Suzanne is an author and a poet.

  • I remember Suzanne Sommers’ battle with cancer and I applauded her for the courage to try alternative medicine (despite much opposition from Western medicine and the media), I would love to be entered in this draw as all three perfumes are right up my alley: sweet, citrus vanilla delights! Thank you again! (and it is great to finally put a face to a name, Michelyn 🙂 ).

  • Please enter me in this fabulous sugar heaven draw. I guess this one is for the candy girls:-)
What can I say, another fantastic draw of this Blogathon made possible through so many generous and gifted people, and by the hard work of Michelyn. Thank you for making this possible.
    I donated yesterday.

  • What a fun draw, i used to watch Three’s Company…..loved that crazy Mr. Roper and his wife. Thank you to all the fabulous perfumers for donating.

  • Asali is right… this one is for the candy girls! Loukhoum is one of my top 5 favorite perfumes, and my current bottle is almost empty.

I just made a donation online via CC, but didn’t see on the site where to mention which draw I’m bidding on. The order ID is VXHE7F92198F if that helps. 🙂

  • Lisa, you can mention in a comment here which prize you are trying for.

I am trying for all of them!!

I got hooked on Suzanne’s jewelry line for a while and loved her goofy presentations with Coleen Lopez on HSN. I also Somercized – one of the more successful food plans I have tried, actually.

I think with this I have used up my donation!!

  • I remember that Sniffapalooza day,was it only last year(??), when Michelyn was photographed with Kieko. It brings back such fond memories of sniffing together! I would love to be entered into this draw, and finally sample the Loukhoum that Michelyn has been raving about for years. Thanks all for your generosity!

  • Beautiful pink perfumes for a good cause. I love Loukhoum, and the Geisha Pink is so pretty, with that Asian sensibility that is present throughout the line. Pink party sounds wonderful, and I think I have to go order it! I have made another donation of $25 and the reference is VDVE3A479F54. Just a few more days, Michelyn, and it will be November and you can get some rest after all this hard work!

  • I’m imagining my daughter and my nieces twirling all girly in these sweet scented perfumes. They would love them I’m sure and I might just have to keep a few dabs for myself were I to win this draw. ID: VXYE7F306F04
