Before we get to the draw, our heart felt sympathy for the victims of the earthquake in Japan and its aftermath. This country is dear to all, but especially to Keiko Mecheri and to Maria McElroy. Therefore every comment should offer a prayer for those who have suffered due to the tragic earthquake.

    First of all, my prayers are for Japan and for all the people who are suffering these days. I love that country so much. In fact, I was planning to go there on my honeymoon, in summer.
    I liked the review of Darkly Audacious by Sarah Barton King, but I have never tried her perfumes.
    The same about Keiko Mecheri. My favorite review was on Isles Lointaines and Tuberose.
    And I didn't know Aroma M yet, but now I have had the chance to read your article about Geisha (Blanche and Noire) and I would love to try something of this line! Pink could be a nice start.

    I greatly admire Ms Mecheri's work and I regard her as a warm and approachable lady.
    I enjoyed the article about her Hesperides collection and the then recently launched Attar de Roses.  I found the Hesperides' descriptions mouthwatering and the Attar de Roses one, nothing less than dreamy.
    I deeply respect the Japanese people for being -above all- honorable in an era when honor seems devalued. It will never be devalued for me.
    They are also strong, resilient, patient, disciplined and hard working. I am sure they will be able to rise above the horrible tragedy they have suffered.
    They are in my prayers.

    Happy Birthday! I love both The Pink Room No 1 and Keiko Mecheri´s Loukhoum Pour Soir, I would be very happy to win any of them. As a gesture to the suffering people in Japan, today I wear a Japanese fragrance Yohji edt as a fragrant prayer. The disaster in Japan remind me about how fragile life is, so I have been even more than usual caring  to my family and closest.

    I'm a big fan of Keiko Mecheri. I own Oliban, and just last night I was wearing a few drops of my precious sample of Loukhoum du Soir and was thinking it was the best of the Loukhoum trilogy and the one I wanted most to own. I love it for sleeping.
    And I'll never forget the blog post where the new "Attar of Roses" was described like this:
    "I want to be enbalmed in Attar of Roses– there, I blurted THAT out."
    I'm wearing Annayake Miyako today in honor of Japan, an incense prayer for luck to turn and help and healing to come to all who need it.

    We pray for our "tomodachi"  in Japan. My sympathies go out to everyone that is being affected by the disaster.
     
     As a native New Yorker, I was saddened to learn that Takashimaya, a store near and dear to my heart,  was closing when I read your post "A Fragrant Farewell to Takashimaya New York: The Corner of Zen and Fifth Avenue" . However, I felt like Sarah Barton King's comments in the article made me feel like she might have been reading my mind. On my next shopping trip to NYC, I visited MiN New York just to sample her fragrances. After all, if we're in the same frame of mind, we might want to smell the same, right?
    Your review of Geisha O-Cha by Maria McElroy made it sound like something I could drink let alone wear. I immediately went on LuckyScent for a tester. It passed my perfume test: I work with all older, overly honest men and if nobody in the office acts like they're gagging, it's a winner in my book, but I even got a few compliments on it!
    Finally, I learned something our review of Les Nuits D'Izu by Keiko Mecheri as part of the review of her  La Collection Hesperidés collection. At first glance, I thought it was just "another" line of fragrances inspired by the Italian Riviera (in the same vein as Acqua di Parma). I didn't even know that Japan had a riviera until now and the description makes this fragrance sound just delicious. Wishing the both of us a very happy birthday CaFleureBon! Another year older, and like a fine wine, we only get better!

    I remember I read here an article about Maria McElroy  and her creation Untitled for LS but never sampled it. 

    Pink room has great reviews and sounds like a must try. Recently, "A decadent night in Montmartre Darkly audacious" was the article that made me buy her latest addition.  Really lovely. 
    I enjoy so many of Keiko Mecheri fragrances. Loukoum Soir and Eau Poudree are my favorites. Passport to perfumed Isles convinced me that Tuberose is a must have as well.  
    The news from Japan are devastating. I still can believe it is true. And it seems the tragedy doesn't have an end yet. I hope and pray for them.

    I would love to enter the drawing for the Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum. I loved the Attar of Roses blog post. I am wearing Shiseido's Koto today. I cannot stop thinking about the Japanese people and their tragedy.

    My heart and prayers go to the people of Japan. Such a tragic, horrible chain of events.  May the earth beneath their feet become still and the air they breathe be cleansed.  For those stateside who have yet to hear from their loved ones or are worried about those there, you, too, are in my thoughts and prayers.
     
    Not too long ago, Mark did a piece on Sarah Barton-King's Darkly Audacious.  She had written something to inspire the perfumer and according to Mark, the scent is darned close!  The jasmine in there sounds perfect!
     
    If I win, I would choose Loukhoum Parfum du Soir.

    I can't even imagine how terrifying it is for people in Japan right now –people gone, people missing , the threat of nuclear disaster –my heart goes out to all of them.  
    I'm kind of new to Cafleurebon…I like the piece on Sarah Barton-King new fragrance ( I own No1 and Pour Toi —those pink and purple oval boxes are just too cute! )  and I loved the piece on Keiko Mecheri –big fan here (I own Attar de Roses LOVE IT and Peau de Peche ,yummy but could be more intense)  Also love her Loukoum fragrances , they are on the buy list! 
    But somehow I've completely missed Aroma M….eeek! how can this be?? How has this entire line flown under my perfume radar? Clearly I need to go do some searching this afternoon! 
    Oh and if I won –I'd wrestle Tiara for the Loukoum Soir….but then I'd share with her anyhow,  cuz she's my friend.  🙂 
    Now I need to go read about Aroma M.

    Prayers go out to the people in the affected areas of Japan, its truly very sad. One of my favoriter perfumers dear Keiko Mecheri. Love the regular Loukhoum, one of my absolute favorites, such a comfort scent to me. Attar de Roses, Les Zazous  and Tarifa are all lovely. Her fragrances are truly easy to wear. I have yet to try the Loukhoum Soir…so here is my prayer to the perfume gods 🙂

    sometimes we are in our own world. it took keiko to remind me..  thank you for  the comment on my farewell to takashimaya . i still get choked up when I pass that spot. forever 21 opened there. MiN really filled the niche…. but fifth avenue looks like a mall of america now. lost its  luxe appeal

    I send all my hope and love to the people of Japan, My nickname is Gojira(Godzilla) I have always had special place for Japan. I also like to remind people The Red Cross is again asking for donations. The poor agency has had a huge drain on its resources the past 2 years.

    Never ask for whom the bell tolls — it tolls for thee.  These were the lines that came to my mind as I was thinking about the disaster in Japan both because a nuclear catastrophe will affect anyone in the world, inevitably, but because of my own everyday life with a tsunami possibility.  I live on the Pacific coast as well, and the scenarios of an earthquake that will happen one day — some day — maybe tomorrow, maybe a very distant day — and the tsunami that WILL be generated by that earthquake, are horrible.  Therefore, I am thinking about the tragedy that has already happen in Japan and all the possibilities for tragedies along the Pacific coast, and I pray for preparedness.  We need to know, state and local governments need to take action and take the issues of being prepared seriously.  My feelings are stated by my colleague's breast cancer poster that says: "Pray for the dead and fight like hell for the living."  I hope for healing in Japan for now and preparedness for future.
    I would love my luck to land me on winning Keiko Mecheri's Loukhoum Parfum du Soir.  One of my favorite articles about her was of course, the one which I commented to and won the Isles Lointaines and Tuberose.  The other honorable mention is the one noted by Nina Z, right after Ida says that she wants to be embalmed in the Attar of Roses, she goes to state that Isles Lointaines was the most soothing scent she experienced in a while.  As I was reading these lines, I was expecting some Isles Lointaines in the mail for me, and I hang on in hopes to be calmed and soothed as I was dealing with the disease of my first kitty… 🙁 I was dreaming of the soothing fragrance of a tropical isles to arrive at my door and miraculously turn the events for better.  It did arrive in good time for me to enjoy it, and hopefully, my kitty will get well eventually.  We're still struggling.
    I loved Mark's review of Darkly Audacious (Jan 9 2011) and Monica Skye Miller's article on Geisha Blanc and Noir.  What gorgeous pictures!  I wish I was reading Cafleurebon back then! 🙂 but I cannot complain since I am catching up now.

    My thoughts and prayers are going out to those in Japan right now. I wore CDG Hinoki today in memory. I loved the recent review of Darkly Audacios-so much that it prompted an unsniffed buy of the parfum (which I love). Would be happy to win The Pink Room or the KM Loukoum. ( or Geisha Pink-I do love that one as well for those girly times:)

    Please enter me in the draw for Keiko Mecheri Loukhum Pour de Soir. I have Jasmine and I have come to like Keiko Mecheri fragrances. My favorite article was on the one with Keiko's new releases Tuberose & Isles Lointaines. With that description, I will most likely end up blind buying Tuberose – it sounds absolutely divine!

    I loved the article Darkly Audacious! Fav's of Keiko were Passport to perfumed isles and Farwell to takashimya. For The people of Japan all over the world my heart is breaking. So much turmoil rolled into their country This past week. I have been burning Temple Incense since Friday… I love the people of Japan. They are a strong yet compassionate people. Prayers will never cease for them or their country.

Happy Birthday…its hard to feel completely happy when you know there is so much turmoil and sadness in Japan.     My deepest sympathy for everyone affected by the Japanese Earthquake. Sending prayers and thoughts to Japan.  My favorite article was Mark Behnke's Keiko Mercheri Iris D'Argeant  I love when he refers to it as "a silver stiletto slathered with orris butter and correspondingly alternating between hot and cold whiffs of iris."  Truly inspired writing. Please enter me in the Loukhom draw  I am dying to try it.

    How exciting ! I love Sarah and her Pink Room No 1 is one of my all time favorite fragrances ! I own the EDP , the body cream and body powder…
    I would love to win the Loukhoum Parfum du Soir ! It is my favorite of her perfumes .
     My favorite article was Ida's coverage of the Elements Showcase 2011 , I wanted to be there but her article was the next best thing !
    The Japan disaster is continuing , the horrific explosions and fires at the nuclear plants will affect the world for years to come…my heart breaks and I am very sad about the unfolding events . So many people missing , so many people without food and water .

    My prayer, said nightly, is for all those suffering from the triple disaster in Japan, but especially the children. My heart truly, truly goes out to them in this horrible situation and I wish them all the strength and fortitude they will need in the coming months and years. We all need to pray for Japan.
    As for an article that picqued my interst, The 'La Collection Hesperides' [Keiko Mecheri] is the one. This collection is right up my alley- very European, lots of rose and spice- I would love to win Loukhoum…

    i can somehow imagine what are the japan's people going through. Something similar happened to my country several years ago (2007) . I wish the best for japan and they could recover in a pretty fast time.

    I loved the review that mentioned Keiko Mecheri's Attar of Roses. i can't wait to try that one after the review.  I also am eager to try Darkly Audacious after that review.   I am familiar with the Aroma M line and already own several, including Pink.  I also have green, blue and white.  All her scents have something that reminds me of the years I lived in Asia; something about the attention to beauty I found there, I also find in her perfumes. Because I already own Aroma M Geisha Pink, I would rather be in the draw for Pink Room, or the Loukoum, which I've been anxious to try. Thank YOu.
