Breaking News: Rochelle Bloom Resigns as President of the Fragrance Foundation as of Year’s End

Rochelle Bloom is stepping down as President of The Fragrance Foundation after being at the helm of the industry organization for nine years.

  During Ms. Bloom's tenure, she expanded the base of the organization after opening its ranks to media and retail executives. She also worked to include middle management of the member companies by creating an associate board.  and was instrumental in signing licensing agreements with organizations in Dubai and Russia, as well as negotiating a similar deal in Brazil.

 Ms. Bloom  will serve on the Comittee for the 2012 FiFi Indie Perfumer Awards.   Other "notables' on the comittee are Rodrigo Flores-Roux of Givaudan;  Mandy Aftel of Aftelier Perfumes, Arnaud Adrian of Robertet; Frederick Bouchardy of Joya Studio;  bloggers  Victoria Frolova of Bois de Jasmine, Carrie Meredith of  Eyeliner on a Cat, Karl Bradl of Aedes de Venustas; Virginia Bonofiglio of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Denise Capozzalo of Barneys and V.P of Publicity MaryEllen Lapanasky of the Fragrance Foundation. Givaudaun has donated  $10,00 to the winner who will be announced at the Elements Showcase in New York January 31, 2012.

We all have to move on to the next chapter,” Bloom told WWD Tuesday,“I’ve been predictable my whole life. I  don’t want to do that anymore.”  

Jill Belasco, the Chairman of  the Fragrance  Foundation said the choice of a successor has “not been finalized at this time and that Ms. Bloom is leaving on the best of terms.

I asked him about his upcoming concert because I was such a fan and he actually told his manager to give me a free ticket and an all access pass.
