The Art and Olfaction Awards 2018 Winners were announced on April 21, 2018 at The Tabernacle, in London’s Notting Hill. Each of the Art and Olfaction Awards 2018 Winners received a Golden Pear, the “Oscar of artistic perfumery”. Founder Saskia Wilson Brown presided and perfumers and judges came from all over the world. The globalization of artistic perfumery was apparent by the diversity of the Winners. This year in addition to the discretionary Contribution to Scent Culture Award an Aftel Award for Handmade Perfume was also given to recognize the independent small batch perfumers. “The Awards, established in 2014 by the Institute for Art and Olfaction, are given to outstanding creators in the categories of independent, artisan, and experimental perfume from across the globe, chosen for perfumes released in 2017.”
